Daniel Padilla <3 |
Okay, I decided to write this post neither because I hate nor love Daniel Padilla that much. I mean, the kid has skills too, right? Come to think of it, he could have not performed in a Pay Per View concert if he's not that nationally recognized. Also, he recently swept several awards in "Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2013" and his really really proud of it. I don't know why. "Well, Daniel has a very nice voice," said no metal heads ever. Oh come on, you metal-genre enthusiasts! Let's give him the benefit of a doubt. But, with all due respect, I think there are a number of local bands/artists in the Philippines that deserve to be under Mr. Padilla's name (God, I hope they won't misinterpret this). I only listed seven (7) of them, though. In terms of musicality, Daniel Padilla is, by far, the most... never mind. Let's start the breakdowns, anyway.
Franco |
Originally from Cebu, this band surely has something to offer in the music industry including their passion for marijuana. Franco Reyes, the main vocalist, never gave up on his musical endeavors despite his age and was even more admired because of his manhood. But, Daniel wasn't disturbed at all. He knows he has the golden voice to prove that.
"In This Kind of Silence," Typecast Should...Ssh
Typecast |
Yes, their lyrics are quite melancholic, but, definitely superb. Also, they really sound like foreigners either on CD's or performing live. Indeed, Typecast is one of the country's most influential bands. Although they may have the looks, Daniel would outrun them using his handsomeness. "Alright girls! Pile up!"
Hilera Can't "Define" Daniel.
Hilera |
A 3-piece band that circles around jazz, rock, blues, and pop, Hilera is a top-notch. With ear-filling drums, rock-laden riffs and heavy bass lines, this band can make the Araneta Coliseum go wild. But hey, Daniel Padilla can also do that. Boo!
Gracenote: Ahm... Eh... Ahm...
Gracenote? |
This one is for Mark (my blog-mate): Yow, buddy! Daniel ain't got no time for this!
Queso Should Have Been More "Cheesy"
Queso |
The league of veterans who enticingly rock the country's scene. Thanks to them, most, if not all, of our artists got that feel in music going in their nerves. They have brought a new style and approach on music. However, Daniel Padilla, our guy, ate more cheese than them. Remember "Neseye Ne Eng Lehet?" Man, he nailed it right!
Zero "Gravity" For Urbandub
Urbandub |
With ding-dongs of instrumental effects and devouring heavy guitar riffs, this band has carved a brand of music not just in the country, but also in various places in Asia. Urbandub develop a unique blend of music on its own. However, Daniel can still outwit them with his golden voice. Oh, that golden voice! (pun not sure if intended or not).
Mr. Rico Blanco's Universe Got Messed Up
Rico Blanco/Rivermaya |
Noted as one of the best songwriter in the country, Rico still has the ideals to write the finest songs there could be since his Rivermaya days. He's a true-blooded heir of music and a man of words.Yet, Rico can't keep up with Daniel's heartthrob presence.
Alright, there you go. I hope I have changed your view on Daniel Padilla's musicianship. The above mentioned bands/artists are way too out of his league. I told you beforehand. He doesn't need any Les Paul guitars or Warwick Basses, ear-throbbing drum fills and heavy riffs, genuine and ideal lyrics - these are crap. In other words, Daniel can work with an auto-tune or something, a little make-up and gel, nice suits and leather shoes, and most of all, a Golden Voice. Now, that's what I call musicality! Cheers!
I heard this guy from while i was on a bus, and they're playing his concert show (araneta i think?) and damn..that captivating golden voice *wink* *wink*
