Well, last time we shared a couple of internationally-known artists (which includes the itchy, bitchy Justin Bieber) in our website that we think are worthy of your attention. This 2014, we firmly believe that it is the right time for you to tear down those Miley Cyrus posters and stop listening to Taylor Swift's songs about her ex-boyfriends because nobody gives a fuck nowadays. 

Sa'less: An Underground Haven

What started out as a small karinderia in a street surrounded by banks, coffee shops and just a few blocks away from Sta. Ana Church is now considered, if not the only, one of Davao’s most visited music bars. After Moonstamp in Matina and Durian Bar in Quirino, (which music enthusiasts considered “the music bar” of the early 2000’s) both shut down for business and Taboan in Matina Town Square now usually showcasing show bands, Sales Bar is considered the place where musicians with their fan boys and fan girls all get together to bond over beer and music.

Sa'less Diner and Moozika opened for business in around mid of 2010. Located in Sales Street just near Chimes, Sales Bar Tekanplor once was a small time eatery by day and an improvised music bar by night just to be found beside the present Sales Bar building. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Moshe Papica, their cousin Paolo Papica and RJ Tan, Sales Bar was only visited by people looking for budget-friendly everyday food during daylight. As the sun goes down the eatery turns into an improvised music bar with instruments for the owners Moshe’s and Paolo’s band mates and friends.“Syempre, mga music lovers kami, and so we started to form our own band. Since we already have our own place, so why not play in our own place diba? So karinderya sya by day, and inuman slash music bar by night.” Since then, Sa'less evolved from being a mere eatery to a chill hangout where various artists have been invited over the place to play and freely expose their craft.

As we all know, the 2013 MTV Music Video Awards (VMA) has just rocked the planet with various performances from well-known musicians/artist and, of course, with how the awards night went on. However, the thing that might have really caught your innocent attention was Miley Cyrus’ odd-strange-peculiar-unusual (Yeah, I know these words have the same meaning) number.  I’m pretty sure it made you think if you’re on drugs or in the middle of a nightmare. This is most especially if you have seen how Miley Cyrus made a living out of her tongue.  Yup, it seems that she’s trying to show to the world how good she is at licking. Hmm… I wonder what exactly Robin Thicke felt during that time.  

Out of these Miley's tongue-chronicles, I think there's an underlying message that she wants to relay to her ex-boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.

The Chariot: A Musical Chivalry Ending

No, it is not the two-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle that you have possibly seen in movies with medieval themes and/or ancient warfare. I’m talking about this mathcore American band, The Chariot, based in Douglasville, Georgia. When I was yet to discover the depths of their music, I was more enticed with their showmanship in every show. Literally, you’ll see what I’m what trying to convey if you watch some of their live videos on YouTube. Or, if you were lucky enough to see The Chariot perform live on stage (which I wish I could’ve), you surely have seen a chaotic-yet-beautiful one. Nevertheless, this ever-neck-breaking-bone-twisting-guitar-smashing band, if I may name them, has to end its contagious musical chivalry.

7 Memphis May Fire Songs To Check Out

When I first heard of the rumors regarding the demise of Vans Warped Tour, the first band that came to my mind was Memphis May Fire. Although I might not be out there seeing how they perform live on stage, the thought of ending the prestigious event is quite disturbing. They're one of my greater influences when it comes to musicianship and songwriting. I never get tired of listening to their songs and, most especially, watching their music videos. Memphis May Fire is, by essence, the type of band that weaves music from the depths of life. Yes, you'll see exactly what I mean basing on the songs they have had written so far. On the other hand, the maturity they have in terms of musicality and relationship within the band is indeed tremendous. I just hope that one day, people will see the true message that Memphis May Fire is trying to convey.

The Demise Of Vans Warped Tour: True Or Hoax?

Last night, before I decided to go to sleep, I chanced upon rumors that surely pinned my interest. Warped Tour mastermind, Kevin Lyman, has spoken that this year’s tour at Australia will be its last. According to him, primary sponsors especially Vans pulled out from funding the event. To think, Warped Tour has been known for its extreme sports and mash-up music. It has been very successful for over a bundle of years since it started. Also, Warped Tour is very noted to music lovers all over the world–including me. Thus, it is really disappointing to know that such scenario will take place. Although I only get a glimpse of what Vans Warped Tour is through the internet (Youtube, Online Magazines, etc.), it has still influenced my musicianship.

Oh, That Random Thought

On my first post, I discussed about the 7 distinct indications of a call center agent. It was indeed lengthy for a guy like me who seldom writes, but I find blogging and/or writing a hobby. However, today's post will be quite bereaved and non-dramatic. Why? Because I'll just suffice about randomness. Yup, you've heard of the latter—RANDOM. And, I'll be utilizing the term literally. As you can see, random stuffs usually occur in our daily lives. Random luck, random bad luck, random faces, random events, random everything! And what better way to add more randomness in life than a blog that posts random things. Right? Right? Right? (I'm just looking for reassurance. Heehaw!)

If you're a fan of comedy skits, you probably have chanced upon Gabriel Iglesias or much widely recognized for his stage name, Fluffy. The American stand-up comedian is known for employing explosive voices and sound effects every time he cracks jokes on his shows. The first time I saw him was on the movie, Magic Mike. In the film, you'll see Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey living a life as male strippers. At the same time, Fluffy plays the role of the club's DJ. After watching the movie and doing some research, I found out that he is one hell of a comedian. "Oh no, Fluffy's killing fishes!" Indeed, for him,  "He's not Fat. He's Fluffy."

7 Movies That I Thought Should Have Made Me Cry

These past few days, I found myself hooked into watching movies. I spent almost 7-8 hours in-front of my laptop and enjoying what a film could offer. Ironically, most of these, if not all, movies depict love and... love.  Although it'll not make me less of a guy, it surely got me interested. At the same time, I wasn't expecting that these films would touch my heart—seriously. But, let me just get things straight, they didn't make me cry, honestly. So, to make it more interesting, I decided to post 7 of those movies which I thought could have made me burst into tears. Why? Man, they are just plain cute and lovely! No homo.

Tim Lambesis: On An Alter Perspective

I posted this article few months ago on my Wordpress.com blog right after the shocking news about a heavy metal band artist who was accused for hiring a hit-man to kill his estrange wife. Well, since the words are originally written by me (ahem!), I took the splendid idea to post it here and might as well share my insights in the blogger community. Here it goes! 

In the years of my existence as an individual and a lover of music, Tim Lambesis is one of those persons who inspire me to pursue my endeavors and take life to fullest.  I’m always fascinated by the way he weaves music and how it greatly inspires thousands, if not millions, of people all over the world. Tim Lambesis, if you haven’t known him yet, is the lead singer and co-founder of the heavy metal band, As I Lay Dying. Also, he’s known for being the man-all-over Austrian Death Machine, a metal side project of him that parodies and pays tribute to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s films. He has this gift of writing musical lyrics in such way that people get astonished not only by enticing musical appeal it has but also the message it conveys. Tim Lambesis, in other words, is one of my heroes and I won’t question myself on that. Unfortunately, this hero of mine has to fight the greatest battle in life – to seek for the truth.

7 Local Bands Under Daniel Padilla's Golden Voice

Okay, I decided to write this post neither because I hate nor love Daniel Padilla that much. I mean, the kid has skills too, right? Come to think of it, he could have not performed in a Pay Per View concert if he's not that nationally recognized. Also, he recently swept several awards in "Himig Handog  P-Pop Love Songs 2013" and his really really proud of it. I don't know why. "Well, Daniel has a very nice voice," said no metal heads ever. Oh come on, you metal-genre enthusiasts! Let's give him the benefit of a doubt. But, with all due respect, I think there are a number of local bands/artists in the Philippines that deserve to be under Mr. Padilla's name (God, I hope they won't misinterpret this). I only listed seven (7) of them, though. In terms of musicality, Daniel Padilla is, by far, the most... never mind. Let's start the breakdowns, anyway.
